Song of a Jewish Cowboy (2002, 18 min.)

POSTPONED

ADMISSION: Free on Free First Tuesday

Scott Gerber, who embodies an unlikely mix of Yiddish and cowboy cultures, learned Yiddish and progressive songs from his mother and grandmother. A descendant of the left-wing Petaluma chicken ranchers, Scott carries on both Yiddish and ranching traditions, and proudly works in agriculture. He frequently rides the range and sings cowboy and Yiddish songs at Simcha Sunday and a local Irish bar.

Films will be followed by a short discussion led by CJM staff.
